(She/Her/Hers) Licensed Clinical Psychologist

***HAS LIMITED OR NO OPENINGS. MAY NOT CURRENTLY BE TAKING NEW CLIENTS***

My name is Dr. Haran Kingstan and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego. My goal as your therapist is to collaborate with you to understand, alleviate, and heal from the inevitable challenges of life and to explore new ways of living true to your values, priorities, and relationships.

I believe that human beings are inherently relational beings and that both our earliest relationships and present ones have an immeasurable influence on our health and happiness. Working from multicultural, feminist, and psychodynamic perspectives, my approach offers the potential for new ways of understanding how these relationships and experiences present themselves in our day to day. My training and experience in incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed approaches also allow for tangible, evidence-based techniques that encourage skill-building and symptom reduction. Regardless of why we initially come to therapy, increasing insight into how our internal world affects our external one is crucial to having more autonomy and power in participating in the world in a way that helps us achieve our goals and fulfill our needs. Whether you have a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, or identity concerns, or are feeling stuck, lonely, or conflicted, therapy can be a powerful method of learning what obstacles prevent us from growing.

I have significant experience in working within a generalist framework, providing me the opportunity to work with individuals with a variety of presentations such as life transitions, identity issues, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and trauma. I have a particular interest in working with the LGBTQ+ community and for integrating the intersection of various identities on functioning and relationships into the therapeutic process. With each client I see, I work to provide a safe, challenging, vulnerable space that is nonjudgmental, empowering, and even occasionally fun. It would be an honor to meet you and hear your story.
