Dr. Kevin Tajii is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience in treating depression, anxiety, men’s issues, anger management, grief and loss, relationship issues, and sex/porn addiction. Dr. Tajii is also trained in treating behavioral health issues such as insomnia and chronic pain. Dr. Tajii also specializes in working with male- identified clients that struggle to connect, express emotions, and/or challenge masculinity stereotypes. Dr. Tajii is a 3rd generation Japanese American (Sansei) born and raised in Los Angeles County. Dr. Tajii uses he/him/his pronouns.

Dr. Tajii often pulls from several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy. Dr. Tajii will tailor the type of treatment utilized based on the client’s needs. He is genuine and warm in the room, and places heavy importance on the therapeutic relationship which can help foster a safe environment. Dr. Tajii also enjoys challenging his clients to be the best version of themselves and assist them in finding ways out of areas in which they feel “stuck.” Dr. Tajii loves being a therapist in San Diego due to the multiculturally diverse communities and the slower pace of the city (slower at least compared to LA).

Dr. Tajii completed his American Psychological Association (APA) accredited Psychology Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of La Verne. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego. Dr. Tajii came to enjoy the community and decided to continue practicing therapy in San Diego. Following his pre-doctoral internship, Dr. Tajii completed his postdoctoral hours at the University of San Diego’s Counseling Center. Dr. Tajii currently runs a weekly Diversity Seminar for APA-accredited interns as part of their training program and participates in bi-weekly anti-racism conversations with fellow San Diego therapists.

In Dr. Tajii’s spare time, he enjoys cooking, watching his favorite football team have another disappointing season, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Tajii is an in-network therapist for Cigna in San Diego.
