Dr. Price is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience providing counseling and therapy to adult clients. She is trained in multiple evidence-based treatment modalities and has had extensive experience working with a diverse population, both military and civilian. Her expertise includes working with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, relationship distress, interpersonal conflicts, and various forms of trauma. Dr. Price is bilingual, fluent in Chinese/Mandarin, and bicultural. Being a first-generation Asian American immigrant, she understands acculturation stress deeply and has helped those who struggle with racial identity and interracial relationships.
Dr. Price received her Doctor of Psychology from Long Island University in New York and completed her APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship at Boston VA Healthcare System/Harvard Medical School. After receiving her doctoral degree, Dr. Price joined the Navy in 2004 and was an active-duty Navy Psychologist stationed at Naval Medical Center San Diego before transitioning into a civilian psychologist working for the Department of the Navy. During her naval career, she treated countless servicemen and women suffering from a wide range of mental health issues, deployed with an Expeditionary Strike Group during Operation Enduring Freedom, managed several Navy mental health clinics, and trained many Navy Psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows.
After leaving the Navy, Dr. Price worked for the County of Riverside as a senior psychologist in the Employee Assistance Program from 2013 to 2020, helping Riverside County employees and their family members. In that role, Dr. Price worked with many clients suffering from severe obesity and chronic health conditions and helped them improve their health, either with or without bariatric surgery. Since 2020, Dr. Price has been in full-time private practice, working with a wide range of clients from very diverse backgrounds. As one of the few Chinese-speaking psychologists in San Diego, she works with many Asian American Pacific Islanders as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Her therapy style is warm and collaborative. She utilizes a holistic approach to help clients make desired changes in their lives. She helps them understand how biological, environmental, familial, social, racial, and interpersonal factors have shaped them into who they are today so they can better understand themselves, define what changes they seek, and master the skills to bring about those changes.
