Postdoctoral Psychological Associate supervised by Dr. Roberto Luna (PSY29183)

Dr. Claudia Delgadillo Walter is a Registered Postdoctoral Psychological Associate (PSB 94029316) providing individual therapy for adults in San Diego. She is supervised by Dr. Roberto Luna (CA Licensed Psychologist PSY 29183). She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University’s California School of Professional Psychology and completed her internship at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, and her fellowship at the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. Dr. Walter strives to provide clients with a supportive space to explore life’s challenges, build self-understanding, and move toward growth, and greater wellbeing.

Dr. Walter offers therapy for a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and substance use. Her approach is person-centered, and strengths-based, and draws from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Walter is also trained in trauma-focused treatments, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). Throughout her work, she integrates mindfulness practices to help clients stay grounded in the present moment, allowing them to better connect with their body, thoughts, and feelings.

Additionally, Dr. Walter approaches her work with a multicultural and socially aware perspective, fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive therapeutic space. As a first-generation, Spanish-speaking, Latina clinician, she brings a personal and professional commitment to serving BIPOC individuals, first-generation college students, and multicultural individuals. She draws on this background to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered.

Glad you stopped by and are seeking help. With over six years of experience providing psychotherapy in various settings, including psychiatric hospitals, community mental health settings, residential treatment, and outpatient clinics, Dr. Walter is committed to collaborating with you in building resilience, and creating meaningful change in your life. She provides in-person therapy in San Diego and is currently accepting new clients.

I am an in-network therapist for Cigna, Aetna, Blue Shield, and Anthem Blue Cross.
