Dr. Cisneros-Seibel’s approach to treatment is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and several therapies that are offshoots of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). What these therapies have in common is that they focus on the connection between emotions, thoughts and behaviors. The focus of all of these therapies is to relieve negative emotions and thinking patterns that stand in the way of achieving one’s personal goals. These approaches are all evidence-based, meaning that they have been shown through research to reduce negative emotions and to lead to improvements in life-satisfaction. Dr. Cisneros-Seibel strives to create a collaborative relationship with clients and a therapeutic environment that is open and non-judgmental. In working with clients Dr. Cisneros-Seibel encourages a balance between work/academics, personal relationships, self-care including physical exercise and personal creativity. Treatment for each client is individualized on the basis of their personal problem-solving approach, individual personality characteristics and cultural background.
Outside of the office Dr. Seibel enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, cycling and gardening.
